How it plays
01 · The round
Each question names a country and hands you an unlabeled map — tap where it is. No labels, no borders highlighted, ten countries a round.
02 · The price
A correct answer is worth 100 points, and answering inside the 6-second par earns a speed bonus of up to half as much again. Practice rounds are unlimited; the daily board gives you one attempt, and that attempt is what your streak hangs on.
03 · The rematch
Finished a round? Send it to a friend as a duel — they get the same ten questions on the same clock, and the comparison settles itself.
Loser buys coffee.
Every country on the map
All 195 countries — the 193 UN member states plus Vatican City and Palestine, the two observer states. Kosovo, Western Sahara and Taiwan are not asked: a quiz has no business adjudicating a disputed status. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey — countries on two continents — appear here too.

Questions people actually ask
Is the World Map Quiz free?
Completely — it runs in the browser with nothing to install, and you can play as a guest without creating an account. An account exists to keep your streak and your duels in one place, not to charge you.
How does scoring work?
A correct answer pays 100 points, plus a speed bonus that starts at 150 for an instant answer and drains over the 6-second par. Ten questions a round, so a flawless round lands between 1000 and 1500.
Which countries are included?
All 195 countries — the 193 UN member states plus Vatican City and Palestine, the two observer states. Kosovo, Western Sahara and Taiwan are not asked: a quiz has no business adjudicating a disputed status.
How do I tap a country smaller than my fingertip?
You tap its dot: any country whose shape is too small to hit renders as a dot at its location, and the dot is the answer — zoom in and the real shape takes over. Even Tuvalu plays, with a dot placed at Funafuti — the source geometry does not draw it at all.
What about countries on two continents?
Transcontinental countries — Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey — appear once each on the world board, like everywhere else.
Can I challenge friends?
That is rather the point. Any round can be sent as a duel link — same ten questions, same clock, loser buys coffee — and live matches seat up to eight players at once.
Is there a daily challenge?
One board a day, the same for every player, one attempt — miss a day and the streak notices. It rotates the continent and mixes the question types, so the whole map comes up regularly.
